###Biosourced

Relocate, yes but how?

Exploring different local value chains is what we are experimenting with in the project Herewear in different European regions. Indeed, to relocate, it is necessary to understand where the secondary resources that make it possible to supply the biosourced sector are, how to articulate them with the weaving and knitting value chain, existing or to be recreated, and how to help manufacturers to develop this segment. Icelandic model

On the occasion of March 8, the Icelandic partner of shemakes told us about the teaching method Hjalli (initiated in 1989) to encourage women to be equal to men. From kindergarten, they take their place literally (they have half the yard), are encouraged to play with the same games (ball games, log throwing) and use these games to develop their strength, their courage and their power. This method works provided it is anchored in a shared mental model where “equality benefits everyone”. For the record, Iceland is a reference country with 78% working women, 48% elected to parliament, parental leave taken equally and also restrictive laws (equal work = equal pay) with compensation of €330 /day (when in a company of more than 25 people, the lack of equality is noted). More in The secrets of the Sprakkar : these women who change the world.

Barter & Brol, a way of bringing a neighborhood to life

The new short circuit recycling center in Brussels collects bulky items from the Marolles district, makes them available to residents of the district when they are in good condition (each resident is entitled to one item per week) or repairs damaged products. But beyond the circulation of objects, Troc & Brol is a place to recreate links in the neighborhood.

Revised demographic projections

With an average fertility rate falling worldwide, the demographic peak would be reached in 2046 (with 9 billion inhabitants) or in 2050 (with 8.5 billion inhabitants) and would then begin its structural decline. These scenarios will be achieved under two conditions: the reduction of poverty and the education of girls. Read more

Guaranteeing diversity in corporate recruitment: some best practices, such as “anonymized” recruitment; slow and factual decision-making, based on verified skills and potential; evaluators and decision-makers having the same weight in the collective decision; the implementation of quotas representative of the diversity of the population; objective knowledge of the results compared between diverse or non-diverse teams; compliance with set objectives. The almost inevitable trajectory of technological platforms according to Cory Doctorow. The development scenario for these platforms is almost immutable: conquer the public with offers or attractive/disruptive content (Uber, TikTok); understand through data the mechanisms for engaging and retaining the first audiences; on these bases, develop its clientele exponentially and create dependence.
