HEREWEAR

OUR PROJECTS

CEDECS-TCBL SAS is a partner of the HEREWEAR project, led by CENTEXBEL (BE), which began on October 1, 2020

HEREWEAR aims to establish a European market for locally made textiles using locally sourced bio-based materials. The solutions developed will be based on the latest research in biosourced polyester and cellulose.

Three new waste streams (algae, manure, straw) will be developed for cellulosic textile fibers. Emerging sustainable technologies for wet and melt spinning, for yarn and fabric manufacturing, will be developed and tested on a semi-industrial scale. For finishing, coating and coloring, bio-based agents will be developed. The release of microfibers will be drastically reduced through measures throughout the textile manufacturing process.

Prototypes of clothing for streetwear and corporate clothing will be produced by connecting micro-factories, organized in regional value creation circles; or by networked production resources supported by the platform. The management of the phases of use and end-of-life treatments - repair, reuse, recycling - will be implemented through new structures. Full transparency will be ensured through blockchain-enabled labeling and the setup of a digital twin, informed of LCA information. A database and guidelines will be produced to support the design of fashion items; with a focus on best performance for bio-based materials and for reuse / recycling. Other guidelines will help industry integrate these results.

CEDECS-TCBL SAS is responsible for creating, animating and developing a community of stakeholders supporting the objectives of the project, participating in its activities and wishing to test and promote the outputs and results of the project.

This project received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 101000632.
